Our Favourite Travel Manager
AILEEN COLLINS Personal Travel Manager
I met Aileen as I was looking for someone our age with lots of experience and an awareness of what we women need to travel safely, with our interests and to have lots of fun! I couldn’t recommend her more highly. She is now joining us in ‘Our Italian Affair’ to Milan, Florence & Venice and our itinerary is sensational!!
Along the lines of “two heads are better than one”, the slogan of the Australian Federation of Travel Agents is “without a travel agent you’re on your own”. For those of you who are travel savvy, computer-literate and enjoy spending hours and hours of researching the right flights, accommodation or tour, you may be perfectly happy to do your planning and booking alone.

Although airlines, hotels and tour operators have made it easy to deal direct there is still the concernof whether credit card payments are secure, you are getting the best deal or the tour is the right one for you. Having been in the travel industry since my early twenties and now beyond the sixties, my experience can assist you every step of the way. My now deceased husband and myself operated a tour company putting together specialized itineraries through South East Asia and the Indian subcontinent for 30 years. After selling that company, I joined TravelManagers which is a group of approx. 420 independent agents working from home. This enables me to be able to offer a wide range of travel arrangements to you, with the utmost of personal attention. Working from home, I have no set hours and am happy to be contactable after usual office hours and on weekends. Of paramount importance is that you receive the very best attention at all times.
In being a member of Power of Women in their Sixties for quite a number of years now, I’ve seen Chris’s concern for women of our age to come together, share fun experiences, hear compelling life stories and form a bond with others … be it just for a coffee, a movie … or an adventure! The lack of a travel companion at our age can be quite daunting so the “Women who Travel” Club is a wonderful way to accommodate your desire for travel, be it alone , joining a group tour or with a fellow member.
Initially, we would love some feedback from you – our audience! Where would YOU like to go, when, and how would you like to travel? If you would like to have some company of like minded ladies, I can do that too!
Some thoughts we have are:
A health retreat in Bali or Thailand
A shopping tour in Vietnam
Another tour to Italy along the lines of our June “Italian Affair” going to Milan, Florence and Venice
A cruise
Packages to other cities of Australia for a special show or event
There are some fabulous tour operators who are catering for our travel needs such as Explore Worldwide – really exciting itineraries to such interesting parts of the world … see https://www.exploreworldwide.com.au/experiences/holidays-for-solo-travellers/solo-holidays-over-50
If your thoughts are turning to travel, I would love to hear from you!
